On May 3, 2011 we had to take Mae in for surgery. Her eyes have been drifting (lazy eye) for quite awhile. We did patching for almost a year off and on and it did help but eventually it kept coming back. So we decided to do surgery. They make a little incision in each eye and snip the outer muscle of the eye and pull it tighter. I was so so nervous for it. My biggest fears were when they would take her away from me and me not being able to be with her when she woke from it. She did so good though. They gave her a drug to relax her before they took her from me. It was pretty funny she was acting a little crazy. She had a magna-doodle and she kept drawing huge circles on it over and over while making some crazy sounds to go along with it. When the doc asked her if she was ready to go she looked at him with big eyes, a huge smile, and yells YESSSSS!!! It was so funny. The surgery took an hour and I was extremely anxious the whole time. When they finally came and got me she was still sleeping. She would wake up and look at the nurses and respond but then would fall right back asleep. She wouldn't wake up for anything! There was a little boy that had had the same surgery right through the curtain from us who kept crying and crying saying how much his eyes hurt. It broke my heart and made me worried that that was how Mae was going to be. Well, she never woke up long enough to cry. When we got her home she didn't say much about her eyes hurting just that she was hungry. The next day you would never be able to tell she had surgery. She was back to her normal self. ...Except her eyes which are still very very red and a little cross-eyed. But thats normal.

This is Mae in her cute little hospital gown before they took her back.

Mae's eyes a day after surgery. (She looks like a little vampire!)

Mae loves her cousin Kayden. They have so much fun playing together. Kayden lives with his mom in California and was here visiting.
Easter was really fun this year. The girls had so much fun finding Easter eggs.

Their Easter baskets plus a special letter from daddy.
